What You’ll Need
To clean your Airpods, you’ll need a couple of things. You’ll need a soft microfiber cloth or a soft cotton cloth, rubbing alcohol or isopropyl alcohol, distilled water, and a toothbrush. If you have an Airpod case cleaner, you can use that as well instead of cleaning the case with toothpaste. Step 1: Remove Ear Buds
The first thing you want to do is remove the earbuds. Take your Airpod opening tool and insert it into one of the ear pods and twist it until you feel it click. Gently pull the ear pod out until it stops. Once you get the ear pod out, move to the other ear pod and do the same thing. Once you’ve removed both ear pods, you can remove the wings from the ear pods by pinching them between your thumb and index finger. Be careful not to break them! Now, you can clean the case that your Airpods come in. The case doesn’t take too long to clean and is pretty easy to do. First, put a little bit of toothpaste on the inside and outside of the case. Next, scrub the toothpaste into the inside and outside of the case with a soft bristle toothbrush. Once you have scrubbed the case with toothpaste, you can use distilled water to rinse the inside and outside of the case. You can also use rubbing alcohol to kill any bacteria on the inside and outside of the case. You can also use a mixture of rubbing alcohol and distilled water. Let the case dry for about an hour before you put it away and place your Airpods back inside.
